Played 22 years.
I’m guessing I’ve coached about four years now: two years with KSU, a year with the nitro team, and a year with Barbies.
Josh said they needed a coach. I said let’s see how it works, and once I saw the talent that was already organized... How could I say no?
Advice to a new player: 1) watch and mimic those who are much higher ranked than you, 2) stay as low as you can as long as you can.
My favorite part of Paintball is the people! You make families and friends that you otherwise probably would’ve never gotten along with or cared to get to know, that’s what makes the sport beautiful.
My two favorite coaching quotes 1) Alex Hicks “you can’t teach speed and timing is everything” 2) Ted Lasso “be a goldfish” (specifically applicable to X ball)
